Create your own pizza!

By: Parentville | 6 Jan 2017

Dinner time.. Again.. And you have no idea what to cook that will please everyone yet be a healthy(ish)!

You’re on the verge of ordering food.. You know it! Well stop right there! Why pay for a pizza when you could make one yourself and let the kids decorate it?

We recommend you to clear the space on the kitchen table !!

This is what you need for approximately 8 small pizzas

  • 1 kg white bread flour
  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 2 x 7 g dried yeast sachets
  • 4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 650 ml warm water

Put the yeast sachets in the water and add the olive oil, leave it for a few minutes. In the meantime mix the flour and the salt in a big bowl. Then add the water (with the yeast). Mix it all with a wooden spoon and then with your hands once it becomes more doughy (yes, your kids will want to intervene at this stage..!). Add the olive oil and keep mixing!

Put it all in a ball-shape in your bowl and cover it with a damp cloth. Let it double size in a warm room for an hour more or less.

1 hour later… take out the cloth and be amazed that it has actually doubled size (yes, we didn’t believe either!!)

Simply cut it in smaller balls and spread them on flour-dusted table. Then it’s fun time : add anything on top (tomato sauce, cream, cheese, onions, ham, peppers… the floor is yours!). Put it in the (pre-heated) oven at 200° for around 15-20 minutes!

Enjoy!
