Celebrate Guy Fawkes Night with a bang this year at some of the best family-friendly displays across the capital.

1. Alexandra Palace Fireworks Festival, 4-5 November. Gates open at 4pm on Saturday, 5pm on Sunday

With views across London, Alexandra Palace is a fantastic spot for celebrate Firework night. Alongside the fireworks, there is ice-skating, a giant bonfire, beer festival and a family area with child-friendly rides and stalls for littler ones to enjoy. 2. Southwark Park Firework Display, 5 November. 5-8pm

This free display has the spectacular south bank of the River Thames as its backdrop and usually attracts big crowds. Expect big bangs and plenty of colour as well as food and drink to warm you up. Although the event is free, you still need to book a ticket in advance. www.southwark.gov.uk/fireworks

3. Crystal Palace Fireworks Display, 5 November. Gates open 6pm

One of the capital’s longest running displays has a real family feel with plenty of children’s activities and even a firework display just for little ones. This is a ticket event so buy early to avoid disappointment! crystalpalacefireworks.co.uk

4. Blackheath Fireworks, 5 November. Funfair starts at noon, display at 8pm.

Enjoy one of London’s largest outdoor spaces for a free evening of fireworks, and fun. Attractions include a children’s funfair and lots of warming food and drink. Lewisham.go.uk/fireworks

5. Ravenscourt Park Fireworks, 5 November. Gates open from 5pm.

West London’s Ravenscourt Park is home to one of London’s most popular annual displays. Expect a funfair, special display of fireworks for children and a selection of refreshment stalls. Tickets need to be purchased in advance from the Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith. lyric.co.uk

6. Wimbeldon Park, 3 November. First performance at 6.45

As well as the usual big bangs and colourful fireworks, Wimbeldon Park’s event will also host two themed musical firework performances – Magic at 6.45pm and Around the World at 8.30pm. There’s also a funfair and lots of refreshments to enjoy, all in the beautiful surrounds of the park. Tickets are needed in advance. merton.gov.uk/news-events/events/fireworks.htm

7. Battersea Park Fireworks, 5 November. 6pm

One of the biggest displays in the capital will this year be set to music and hosted by Virgin Radio presenter Christian Williams. Alongside the fireworks will be a large bonfire, food and drink stalls and an abundance of things to do for the whole family.
